Illinois junior Kenta Miyoshi has been recognized as the Big Ten Men's Tennis Player of the Week, following his performances against UCLA and USC. This marks the third time this season that Miyoshi has received this honor.

Miyoshi's recent success includes remaining undefeated in both singles and doubles play during Illinois' duals against the Bruins and Trojans. He is the first player since Alex Brown in the 2017-18 season to earn this recognition three times in a single season.

In a match against USC, Miyoshi achieved his highest-ranked win of the spring by defeating No. 30 Peter Makk with a score of 7-5, 6-3. This victory secured Illinois' 4-2 win over the No. 26-ranked Trojans. The singles win was Miyoshi's tenth in dual play this spring, all at No. 1 singles.

Miyoshi also excelled in doubles alongside Tyler Bowers, achieving a perfect record at No. 1 doubles for the weekend. The duo defeated UCLA's Alexander Hoogmartens and Giacomo Revelli with a score of 6-2 and later overcame USC's Tristan Bradley and Peter Makk with a score of 6-4. Together, they have won four consecutive doubles matches, standing at a record of 4-1 this spring.

Ranked No. 16 in ITA singles rankings, Miyoshi holds a record of 23-9 in singles play for the current season and is currently at a mark of 3-1 within Big Ten action.

Earlier recognitions for Miyoshi as Big Ten Player of the Week occurred on September 18 and February 19.
