Illinois Men's Tennis has announced the signing of Sasha Colleu, a highly regarded recruit, to its 2025 class. Head coach Brad Dancer confirmed the addition on Tuesday.

Colleu, originally from Paris and now residing in Miami, Florida, has committed to join the Fighting Illini under a Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement. He will become part of the team in the fall as their third member of the 2025 recruiting class.

"We are excited to bring Sasha into the Illini family," Dancer stated. "He has an incredible reputation as a disciplined worker and a tenacious competitor. We know from his academic standards that he will be a great asset to the University. When he visited, we felt a great connection to his self vision. Sasha is going to make a big impact for Illinois Tennis."

Currently attending IMG Academy, Colleu is ranked as a blue-chip recruit and holds the No. 19 spot in the Class of 2025 according to Tennis Recruiting Network.

With a career-high ITF juniors ranking of No. 143, Colleu has achieved two doubles titles on the ITF juniors circuit with victories at J100 Quebec City in September and J100 Mexico City in October.

"I chose Illinois because I felt like it was the best place for me to develop as a tennis player but also as a person," Colleu expressed. "I really enjoyed the team culture and could see myself there working hard to achieve our team and personal goals. Also, the effort that all the coaches put into helping the team get to where they want to be made me want to go here and experience that daily. Lastly, I really loved the energy that Coach Dancer brings to practice, which made him stand out to me."

Colleu joins David Bakonyi and Adam Jilly in Illinois' 2025 signing class which was already recognized by Tennis Recruiting Network as top-ranked within Big Ten and ninth nationally before adding Colleu.
