Atkins Golf Club | University of Illinois Fighting Illini
The Illinois men's golf team, ranked No. 13 nationally in the NCAA Division I team rankings and No. 11 in the GCAA's Bushnell/Golfweek coaches poll, is set to compete in the Pauma Valley Invitational. The event will take place on March 17-18 at the Pauma Valley Country Club in California.
The tournament, hosted by Loyola Marymount, features a field of 15 top programs, including six of the nation's top seven teams and nine of the top 15. Notable participants include No. 2 Arizona State, No. 3 Ole Miss, and host LMU, ranked No. 57.
The course at Pauma Valley Country Club is a Par 71 layout spanning 7,311 yards. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., marking his first design in California. The club has been recognized as one of the top courses both nationally and within California.
Illinois will participate with a lineup led by Ryan Voois and includes Max Herendeen, Jackson Buchanan, Ethan Wilson, Trey Marrion, and individual competitor Jake Birdwell.
This marks Illinois' debut at the Pauma Valley Invitational since its inception in 2024. Live scoring for the event will be available on Clippd Scoreboard with recaps posted on FightingIllini.com after each day.
Following this event, Illinois will compete at the Memphis Intercollegiate from March 31-April 1 at Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tennessee.
