Illini women's gymnastics finishes third at Western Michigan Quad

The Fighting Illini women's gymnastics team participated in the Western Michigan Quad, finishing third with a score of 195.300. The event took place on March 8 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Central Michigan University secured first place with a score of 195.850, followed by Western Michigan University at 195.775. Illinois outperformed Wilberforce (Ohio).

Lyden Saltness achieved a career-high score of 9.850 on the beam, tying for first place in a three-way tie. Ruthuja Nataraj tied for third place with a score of 9.800.

On the floor exercise, Eden King delivered an impressive performance, tying her career high of 9.900 and sharing first place in another three-way tie. Senior Emmalise Nock scored 9.850, securing third place alongside two other competitors.

King also excelled on vault with another score of 9.900, earning her the title in that event as well. Olivia Coppola contributed with a score of 9.800.

The team's final rotation was on the uneven bars, where Makayla Green scored 9.825 and tied for third place to lead Illinois.

Illinois will host their final regular season meet against Northern Illinois on March 16 at 1 p.m. CT.
