Fire contained at Parkland College without injuries

The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire incident at Parkland College on March 4, 2025. The fire occurred in a fume extractor and dust collector outside building "T" at 2400 W. Bradley Ave. Firefighters arrived promptly at 1:37 p.m. and managed to control the situation quickly.

Upon arrival, the crew noticed smoke emanating from the equipment outside the building. Firefighting personnel conducted a search of the building to ensure that all occupants were safely evacuated. Meanwhile, additional crews focused on accessing and extinguishing the fire within the equipment.

The firefighters used a single hose line and successfully extinguished the blaze with less than 1500 gallons of water. No injuries were reported among civilians or emergency responders during this incident.
