Illinois' women's basketball team secured a victory over Penn State with a strong fourth-quarter performance, winning 67-55 at the State Farm Center. The Fighting Illini improved their record to 20-5 overall and 10-4 in Big Ten play, marking their seventh consecutive win.

Adalia McKenzie led Illinois with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a steal while playing the entire game. Genesis Bryant also contributed significantly with 18 points, six assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Jasmine Brown-Hagger added 10 points and a steal, while Kendall Bostic recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, an assist, and a steal.

The game saw Illinois take an early lead before Penn State responded to end the first quarter ahead by two points. The second quarter was marked by multiple lead changes but ended with Illinois leading by three at halftime. Despite trailing by five entering the final period after Penn State's third-quarter surge, Illinois outscored their opponents 24-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Illinois' defense held Penn State to just one field goal in the last six-and-a-half minutes of play. "Leading by as many as 14," they managed to maintain control until the final buzzer.
