Illinois secured a significant victory over No. 20 Wisconsin, achieving their first Big Ten win of the season with an 86-80 scoreline at the State Farm Center in Champaign. This marks Illinois' second ranked win this year and maintains their unbeaten home record for the 2024-25 campaign.

Kasparas Jakucionis led the team with a career-high 24 points, continuing his streak of scoring at least 20 points in four consecutive games. He also contributed six rebounds, five assists, and one steal. Tre White followed closely with a season-best 23 points, adding eight rebounds and a block to his performance. Kylan Boswell added to the team's efforts with a season-high 19 points alongside six assists and four rebounds.

Tomislav Ivisic also made an impact by securing nine points and grabbing 11 rebounds, marking his fourth consecutive game with double-digit boards.

The game began with Wisconsin taking an early lead before Illinois responded with a strong run to take control. Despite Wisconsin's attempts to regain the lead, Illinois managed to maintain their advantage through strategic plays from key players like Boswell and Jakucionis.

Illinois went into halftime leading 39-35, maintaining momentum into the second half despite Wisconsin's challenges. The Illini's ability to respond quickly to Wisconsin's runs proved crucial in securing their victory.

The win extends Illinois' record against Wisconsin under coach Brad Underwood to nine victories out of thirteen encounters. With this result, Illinois stands at 7-2 overall and will next face No. 1 Tennessee at home on Saturday evening.
