Illini redshirt junior William Mroz concluded his participation in the ITA Central Sectional Championship on Thursday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas. Mroz faced No. 4-seeded and No. 72-ranked Aristotelis Thanos from Michigan State during the first round of singles at TCU's Bartzen Varsity Courts, losing in straight sets with scores of 6-3, 6-3.
Following this match, Mroz entered the consolation bracket but had to withdraw due to an injury. The Illinois men's tennis team is set to wrap up its fall schedule from November 19-24, with Kenta Miyoshi representing the Fighting Illini at the NCAA Singles Championship in Waco, Texas.
