Illinois senior Jackson Buchanan has been recognized for his outstanding performance in men's golf, leading the Fighting Illini team to notable finishes at recent tournaments. On October 21, Buchanan played a crucial role in securing a tie for second place at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. He followed this with a victory at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational on October 27.

Buchanan's achievements include winning his fourth collegiate medalist title and being named Big Ten Golfer of the Week after his individual triumph at the Fallen Oak event. During this tournament, he made an impressive comeback from an initial round score of 75 (+3) by scoring 68 (-4) and 66 (-6) in subsequent rounds, finishing with a total score of 209 (-7).

At the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, Buchanan recorded a team-best score of 204 (-12), marking his third top-three finish of the fall season. His performance included two consecutive rounds of 5-under 67s and concluded with a round of 70 (-2). Buchanan is currently majoring in operations management.
