The Illinois women's golf team is preparing to compete in The Chevron Collegiate, a tournament hosted by the University of Houston. The event will take place at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas, from February 26 to February 27.

The Chevron Collegiate, previously known as the ICON Invitational, will be held on the Tournament Course designed by Rees Jones and David Toms. The course is set up for a par 72 and measures 6,125 yards.

Seventeen teams are scheduled to participate in this 54-hole tournament. Play begins with shotgun starts at 8:00 a.m. CT each day, featuring 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.

Teams competing alongside Illinois include Furman, Houston, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, North Texas, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UNLV and UTSA.

Illinois' lineup for the tournament includes Isabel Sy at No.1 position followed by Yurang Li at No.2; Erica Lee at No.3; Anna Ritter at No.4; and Lexanne Halama at No.5.

This marks the third consecutive year that Illinois participates in The Chevron Collegiate. Last year they finished tenth overall but saw individual success with Isabel Sy finishing fifth and setting a program record with her second-round score of nine-under-par 63.

In 2022's edition of the tournament Illinois achieved significant success finishing second out of fifteen teams with a total score of -24 over three rounds—a school record—and setting another single-round record with their final round score of -15 (273). Crystal Wang's final day performance was notable as she shot an eight-under-par (64), setting what was then a new program low for an individual round while also achieving one of its lowest ever total scores over three days (-13).

Live scoring throughout The Chevron Collegiate can be accessed via Golfstat.com while recaps will appear on FightingIllini.com after each day's play concludes.

Following this event Illinois plans to continue its season by participating in Briar’s Creek Invitational starting March eleventh at South Carolina’s Golf Club located within Briar’s Creek community area.
