Illini women's golf finishes second round at Landfall Tradition

The Fighting Illini women's golf team concluded the second round of the Landfall Tradition tournament in 13th place. The event took place at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C., where the team recorded a score of 297 (+9).

Sophomore Yurang Li continues to lead the team, finishing the day tied for 11th place with a second-round score of 71 (-1). Li achieved five birdies during her round, bringing her total to 11 over two days, tying her for fourth most among competitors. She is striving for her first top 10 finish.

Brielle Mapanao and Victoria Zheng are both positioned in a tie for 53rd place after posting scores of 76 (+4) and 75 (+3), respectively. Lexanne Halama ended her round tied for 75th with a score of 75 (+3), while Brielle Burns finished tied for 94th after carding a round of 79 (+7).

Duke University currently leads the team standings at 14-under (562), while South Carolina's Sophia Burnett tops the individual leaderboard at 9-under (135).

The Fighting Illini are scheduled to return to action tomorrow morning, with the third round commencing at a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. CT.
