Li leads Illini to top-20 finish at Landfall Tradition

Fighting Illini women's golf team finished tied for 13th place at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The team scored a total of 894 (+30) after completing the third round with a score of 301 (+13) at the Country Club of Landfall.

Yurang Li achieved a career-best finish, tying for 16th place with a final round score of 75 (+3). This marks her second consecutive top-20 finish. Li led her team with 11 birdies during the tournament and excelled in par 4 (4.03, +1) and par 5 (4.67, -4) scoring.

Brielle Mapanao tied for 42nd place with a score of 7-over (223), following her final round of 74 (+2). Lexanne Halama climbed 21 spots on the leaderboard by posting a team-best score of 73 (+1) to tie for 54th place.

Victoria Zheng and Brielle Burns both recorded scores of 79 (+7) in their final rounds, finishing tied for 63rd and tied for 93rd, respectively.

Florida State won the team title with a score of 2-under (862). Lottie Woad from Florida State and Lauren Olivares Leon from NC State shared individual medalist honors at 6-under (210).

The Fighting Illini will next compete on February 16, 2025, at the Spartan Sun Coast Collegiate Invitational held at Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, Fla.
