Illini women's golf team is preparing to participate in the Briar's Creek Invitational, which will take place at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek on Johns Island, South Carolina. The tournament, hosted by the College of Charleston, spans two days from March 11 to March 12.
The course for this event was designed by Rees Jones in 2002 and features a par 72 layout stretching over 6,152 yards. The competition format includes a total of 54 holes with a shotgun start scheduled for Monday at 7:30 a.m. CT and Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. CT. Players will complete 36 holes on Monday followed by an additional 18 holes on Tuesday.
Seventeen teams are set to compete alongside Illinois, including Boston College, Campbell, Florida, Georgetown, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, NC State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, UCF and Wisconsin.
Representing Illinois are Isabel Sy as No.1 player followed by Yurang Li at No.2 and Erica Lee at No.3. Anna Ritter holds the No.4 spot while Lexanne Halama rounds out the lineup at No.5 with Sophia Sulkar participating as an individual competitor.
This marks the fourth consecutive year and eighth overall that Illinois has participated in this event. Last year they finished sixth among sixteen teams with a score of +10 over three rounds totaling 874 strokes. Their best performance here was third place achieved in both 2016 and 2018.

Following this event Illinois will head into their next challenge starting Friday March29 when they compete at Liz Murphy Collegiate Classic held at UGA Golf Course located in Athens Georgia.
