Isabel Sy has been recognized as an All-Big Ten First Team member and the recipient of the Illini's Sportsmanship Award, according to a recent announcement by the conference. This marks her first time receiving postseason conference honors.

The senior golfer was highlighted in the Big Ten Women's Golf Watch List during the preseason and earned three Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week awards throughout the season, tying for the most in the conference.

Sy achieved her first individual medalist honor this season as co-champion at The Chevron Collegiate on February 26-27. Originally from San Gabriel, California, she followed up with another co-champion finish at the Briar's Creek Invitational on March 11-12. She is noted for being the first golfer in program history to win individual honors in consecutive events since her coach Renee Slone did so in the 1992-93 season.

Throughout this campaign, Sy maintained a streak of six consecutive top-four finishes. This streak began with a tied-for-fourth place at the Windy City Collegiate Classic on October 2-3, 2023, and concluded with her tied-for-first finish at Briar's Creek Invitational. It was the longest such streak since Slone's seven-straight top-four finishes during 1992-93.

In terms of performance metrics, Sy completed 22 out of her 33 rounds at or below par, including a season-low score of 65 (-7) during The Chevron Collegiate's second round. Her scoring average stands at 71.00, which is currently the lowest on her team and would mark a career low for her.

Looking ahead, Sy will compete individually at the NCAA East Lansing Regional from May 6-8 at Forest Akers Golf Course in East Lansing, Michigan.
