Ritter achieves career-best finish as Illinois places eighth at Buckeye Invitational

Illinois women's golf team concluded the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational in eighth place, achieving a 54-hole total of 906 (+42). This event marked their final competition before the upcoming Big Ten Championships.

Isabel Sy tied for 14th position with her third round score of 73 (+1). She maintained a scoring average of 4.50 (-4) on par 5s, tying for the second-lowest in the field.

Anna Ritter achieved her career-best finish by tying for 19th place after scoring a final round of 75 (+3). During the event, Ritter secured two birdies and was one of three players to record an eagle over the weekend.

Yurang Li finished tied for 29th with a round score of 74 (+2), while Lexanne Halama ended tied for 47th after carding a round of 78 (+6).

Erica Lee completed her rounds tied for 50th with a final score of 77 (+5), and Sophia Sulkar concluded tied for 70th following her third-round score of 85 (+13).

The Illinois team's overall performance included a scoring average on par 5s at 4.97 (-2), ranking fourth among competitors.

Ohio State emerged victorious as hosts, claiming the team title at seven-under (857), with Caley McGinty from Ohio State winning individual honors at six-under (210).

The Fighting Illini are set to compete next Friday at the Big Ten Championships held at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
