Fighting Illini women's golf team is preparing to participate in the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational at The Ohio State University Scarlet Course. The tournament, hosted by Ohio State, will take place over two days from April 13 to April 14.

The event will be held on the Scarlet Course, which was renovated by Jack Nicklaus in 2006. It is set up as a par 72 course and measures 6,319 yards. The competition will feature 12 teams playing a total of 54 holes. Saturday's play includes 36 holes of continuous play, while Sunday will have an additional 18 holes. Both days begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT.

Teams competing alongside Illinois include Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, and Wisconsin.

The lineup for Illinois consists of Isabel Sy at No.1, followed by Yurang Li, Erica Lee, Anna Ritter, Lexanne Halama, and Sophia Sulkar.

This marks the 27th appearance for Illinois in this tournament. Last year they finished ninth out of fourteen teams with a score of +27 over three rounds. They previously won the event in 2018 when Grace Park tied for first individually. Head coach Renee Slone has personal victories here from her playing days in 1992 and 1993.

Live scoring for the tournament can be accessed via Golfstat.com with daily recaps available on FightingIllini.com.

Following this event, the team will aim to defend their Big Ten title at the Big Ten Championships scheduled from April 19 to April 21 at Bull Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
