The Illinois women's golf team concluded their participation in the Nexus Collegiate, securing eighth place with a final round score of 304 (+16), culminating in a total of 898 (+34).
Isabel Sy achieved her career-best finish, tying for second place. She completed the tournament at 1-under par after a third-round score of 76 (+4). This marked her fourth consecutive Top 5 finish, a streak that began at the Windy City Collegiate Classic in October last year. Sy managed two birdies on the final day, bringing her tournament total to 11, ranking fifth among participants. Additionally, she led all golfers in par-5 scoring average (4.60, -6) and was second in par-4 scoring average (3.96, -1).
In her first collegiate event, Yurang Li finished tied for 30th following a third round of 78 (+6). Erica Lee and Anna Ritter both ended up tied for 45th with scores of 73 (+1) and 77 (+5), respectively. Notably, Lee scored four birdies during the round and achieved her first hole-in-one on hole No.12 as an Illini golfer.
Lexanne Halama finished in 63rd place after posting an 84 (+12) in her final round. Competing individually, Sophia Sulkar placed 64th with a similar score of 84 (+12).
Tulsa emerged victorious with a team title at 15-over (879), while North Texas' Ellie Roth won medalist honors at 2-under.
The Fighting Illini are set to compete again on February 26 when they travel to Humble, Texas for the Chevron Collegiate hosted by the University of Houston.
