In doubles action, Kasia Treiber and McKenna Schaefbauer earned a 6-3 victory at No. 3 against Nebraska's Gallego/Loy. However, Nebraska won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
Alice Xu leveled the score for Illinois with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles, maintaining her undefeated start to her collegiate career. Treiber followed with a victory at No. 4 singles, giving Illinois a lead.
Schaefbauer's comeback win at No. 2 extended Illinois' advantage after overcoming an initial set loss to secure the match in three sets.
Josie Frazier completed the team's triumph with another come-from-behind win at No. 3 singles, sealing her match in three sets as well.
Illinois will host Northwestern on March 30 and Minnesota on April 5 at Atkins Tennis Center.
