The men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Florida Relays, completing the first day of events on March 29. Junior Kam Garrett marked his outdoor season debut with a fourth-place finish in the high jump, achieving a clearance of 2.16 meters (7-1), which stands as the program's fourth-highest mark. This jump ranks eighth nationally for the 2024 outdoor season.
Freshman Jordan Koskondy improved her hammer throw to 55.50 meters (182-1), finishing ninth and setting the program's fourth-best mark, surpassing her previous record set at the Hurricane Invitational. Junior Phethisang Makhethe placed sixth in the same event with a throw of 55.85 meters (193-1).
The women's 4x100 meter relay team, comprising freshman Asia Thomas, junior Jessica McDowell, freshman Sophia Beckmon, and sophomore Azariyah Bryant, secured ninth place with a time of 44.24, qualifying them for the finals. Beckmon also achieved a personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 23.70, placing her 22nd overall.
Senior Robert Williams earned third place in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 51.00 seconds, ranking seventh nationally. Freshman Eleftherios Kontonikola finished fifth in javelin with a throw of 66.44 meters (217-11). Sophomore Viktor Morozov ended his day with a fifth-place finish in long jump at 7.13 meters (23-4¾).
The teams will continue their participation in the Florida Relays on March 30.
