Head coach Brad Underwood has announced the addition of three new players to the University of Illinois Fighting Illini basketball program for the 2024-25 season. Carey Booth, Kylan Boswell, and Tre White have signed Big Ten Tenders of Financial Aid and will join the team.
Carey Booth, a forward from Englewood, Colorado, is transferring from Notre Dame with three seasons of eligibility remaining. He played in all 33 games during his freshman year at Notre Dame, starting 19 of them. Booth averaged 6.4 points per game and was noted for his defensive skills, leading the team with 21 blocks. "We're very excited about adding Carey," said Underwood. "He can play multiple positions for us."
Kylan Boswell returns to Champaign-Urbana after two years at the University of Arizona. The guard played a significant role in Arizona's success over the past two seasons, contributing to a 55-16 record and appearances in major tournaments. Underwood commented on Boswell's return: "We know Kylan well... He's young by age but experienced and mature."
Tre White joins Illinois after playing his freshman season at USC and then moving to Louisville as a sophomore. The Dallas native averaged 12.3 points per game last season and was recognized for his versatility on the court. "Tre is another player who is great for our style," said Underwood.
These additions aim to strengthen the team's lineup as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
