Big Ten releases bracket for upcoming baseball tournament

The Big Ten Conference has released the bracket for the 2024 Big Ten Baseball Tournament, which is sponsored by IFS.ai. The tournament will take place from May 21 to May 26 at Charles Schwab Field Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. This eight-team, double-elimination event will decide the conference's automatic entry into the NCAA Tournament.

The University of Illinois' Fighting Illini secured the No. 1 seed and are set to compete against the No. 8 seed Penn State Nittany Lions on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Central Time.

The games will be broadcast live nationwide on Big Ten Network and can also be accessed via the FOX Sports app.

The schedule for the tournament is as follows:

- Tuesday, May 21: Game 1 between Indiana (#3) and Purdue (#6) at 10 a.m.; Game 2 between Nebraska (#2) and Ohio State (#7) at 2 p.m.; Game 3 between Illinois (#1) and Penn State (#8) at 6 p.m.

- Wednesday, May 22: Game 4 between Michigan (#4) and Iowa (#5) at 2 p.m.; Game 5 featuring losers of Games 1 and 2 at 7 p.m.

- Thursday, May 23: Game 6 featuring losers of Games 3 and 4 at 10 a.m.; Game 7 with winners of Games 1 and 2 at 2 p.m.; Game 8 with winners of Games 3 and 4 at 6 p.m.

- Friday, May 24: Game 9 with loser of Game 7 versus winner of Game 5 at two p.m.; Game ten with loser of game eight versus winner of game six at seven p.m.

- Saturday, May twenty-five: game eleven with winner of game seven versus winner of game nine at nine a.m.; game twelve with winner of game eight versus winner of game ten at one p.m.; possible additional games thirteen (five p.m.) and fourteen (nine p.m.) if necessary.

The final match-up on Sunday, May twenty-six will feature winners from either games eleven/thirteen or twelve/fourteen facing off for the championship title at two p.m.
