Illinois sophomore Kenta Miyoshi has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District list, marking his first appearance on this prestigious roster. The announcement was made by the organization on Tuesday.
The criteria for this recognition include maintaining a GPA of at least 3.50 and being at least a sophomore in both academic and athletic standing. Additionally, nominees must either start or be key reserves for their team and have participated in no less than 70% of matches contributing to team scores.
Miyoshi, who majors in strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, led his team with a singles record of 27-9 during the 2023-24 season. His performance included an undefeated 6-0 streak in conference play. Competing across various positions from No. 1 to No. 4 singles, he secured victories in both contests during the NCAA Team Tournament.
In doubles play alongside teammate Mathis Debru, Miyoshi achieved an 18-10 record predominantly on Court 3, finishing with a notable 5-1 record against conference rivals.
His accomplishments also earned him All-Big Ten Second Team honors after his sophomore year—the first all-conference accolade of his career.
