The Fighting Illini baseball team recently secured two wins out of three games in a weekend series against Iowa. The team was led by Drake Westcott, who showcased an impressive performance throughout the series. Westcott achieved a batting average of .400 across the three games, contributing three runs, a double, a home run, two RBIs, and four walks. His home run during Friday's 10-5 victory marked his 14th of the season, placing him tied for third in the Big Ten Conference for most home runs.
In addition to his offensive contributions, Westcott demonstrated strong defensive skills as the first baseman, making several crucial plays during the tightly contested games. Academically, Westcott is a redshirt junior majoring in Recreation, Sport, & Tourism and maintains a GPA of 3.43.
