Former University of Illinois golfers Steve Stricker and Adrien Dumont de Chassart are set to compete in professional golf events this week. The two athletes have previously achieved significant success during their college careers, collectively earning five Big Ten Golfer of the Year awards.
Adrien Dumont de Chassart will participate in the Myrtle Beach Classic at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in South Carolina. He recently finished 30th at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson Classic with scores of 67-67-69-67, totaling a 14-under 270. This result marked his sixth cut made in his rookie season and improved his standing to No. 181 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Steve Stricker returns to the PGA TOUR Champions circuit after more than a month away, aiming for a third consecutive win at the Regions Tradition at Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama. Stricker has won three out of his 17 career PGA Tour Champions victories at this event, with wins in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and narrowly missed another title with a playoff runner-up finish in 2021.
Meanwhile, Thomas Pieters recently secured a tie for fifth place at the LIV Golf Singapore event. This is his best individual finish over two seasons with RangeGoats GC. Pieters has also achieved top-15 finishes in recent events held in Miami, Florida, and Adelaide, Australia.
