Genesis Bryant added 14 points, making three out of five attempts from beyond the arc.
The Illini shot effectively in the second half, achieving a shooting percentage of 56.5% from the field and tying their program record for three-point percentage by shooting 75%. Despite trailing early on, Illinois used a series of runs to take control in the second half.
"We live to see another day," said head coach Shauna Green after expressing pride in her team's performance. "We can't wait to play at home again on Sunday."
