Mia Takekawa, a graduate student from Sacramento, California, led the Illinois women's gymnastics team in their recent quad meet against Alabama, Minnesota, and Talladega College. The event took place last Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Takekawa shared the bars title with Alabama's Luisa Blanco by scoring 9.950. She also achieved Illinois' highest score on the beam with a 9.900.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Takekawa is majoring in bioengineering and maintains a 4.0 GPA.
