Fighting Illini sophomore Ryan Voois has been recognized as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. This accolade follows his standout performance at the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate, where he led Illinois to victory at Atkins Golf Club, University of Illinois in Urbana.
Voois achieved his first collegiate win by maintaining a lead from start to finish. He opened with a career-low and tournament-record score of 64 (-7) in the first round. Over 54 holes, he was the only player among 69 competitors to finish under par with a total score of 212 (-1). His performance included playing 44 out of 54 holes at par or better and leading with 12 birdies. Additionally, Voois excelled in Par-5 scoring with an average of 4.44, finishing five-under.
This recognition marks Voois's first Big Ten Golfer of the Week award and is the fifth for Illinois this season. Previous winners from Illinois include Max Herendeen on September 14, Jackson Buchanan on October 12 and March 27, and Timmy Crawford on October 18.
