Illinois has announced that its football game against Eastern Illinois University (EIU) will now take place on Thursday, August 29. Originally scheduled for Saturday, August 31, the game marks Illinois' first home match at Memorial Stadium during its 100th anniversary season. The kickoff time and television network details will be provided later.
The university is offering season tickets starting at $100 to celebrate the centennial milestone of Memorial Stadium. Additionally, fans purchasing season tickets by April 1 will benefit from a 10% discount on concessions throughout the home games.
The full schedule for Illinois Football in 2024 includes several notable matches. After facing EIU, Illinois will play against Kansas and Central Michigan at Memorial Stadium before traveling to face Nebraska and Penn State. Following a break, they will host Purdue and Michigan. The team will then visit Oregon before returning to host Minnesota and Michigan State. The final away games include Rutgers and Northwestern, with the Big Ten Championship scheduled for December 7 in Indianapolis.
