Illinois baseball secured a decisive victory over Ohio State with a 12-2 win at Illinois Field. The game concluded in the eighth inning under the run-rule, following a walk-off hit by Ryan Moerman.

Brody Harding played a key role for Illinois, going 3-for-4 and contributing five RBIs, including a home run. Drake Westcott also performed well, hitting a home run and scoring three runs. Moerman's two-run double in the eighth inning sealed the win for Illinois.

Pitcher Jake Rons earned the win from the bullpen after pitching 2.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits. Regan Hall delivered an impressive performance with three shutout innings, striking out four batters.

The Illini took an early lead in the second inning with contributions from Harding and Coltin Quagliano. Ohio State managed to score in the third and fourth innings but could not close the gap as Illinois continued to extend their lead.

Hall maintained control when he entered in the sixth inning, keeping Ohio State scoreless through his stint on the mound. Illinois added to their lead in subsequent innings, culminating in Moerman's decisive hit that ended the game early.

Looking ahead, Illinois will conclude their homestand with a series against Iowa starting Friday.
