The Illinois football program, under the guidance of head coach Bret Bielema, has added seven new players from the transfer portal. These athletes have joined the campus and will participate in the team's spring practices.

The new transfers include Dennis Briggs Jr., a defensive lineman from Florida State; J.C. Davis, an offensive lineman from New Mexico; Anthony Johnson, a defensive lineman with previous stints at Bowling Green and Youngstown State; Melvin Priestly, an offensive lineman from Grambling State; Cole Rusk, a tight end who played for Eastern Michigan and Murray State; Enyce Sledge, a defensive lineman from Auburn; and Kevin Wigenton II, an offensive lineman from Michigan State.

Illinois is preparing for its spring practices starting Tuesday, March 19. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium's dedication. The stadium's original Dedication Game took place on October 18, 1924, against Michigan when Red Grange made history with his performance.

To commemorate this milestone, Illinois will host Michigan on Saturday, October 19, 2024. This event will be part of a season-long celebration that includes Big Ten home games against Purdue, Minnesota, and Michigan State.

Season tickets are available now starting at $100. The full schedule for the upcoming season includes home games against Eastern Illinois on August 31 and Kansas on September 7. Other notable matchups include away games at Nebraska on September 21 and Penn State on September 28.

All game dates are subject to change.
