Lyden Saltness receives third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Illinois women's gymnast Lyden Saltness has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the third time. This recognition follows her performance on bars, where she scored 9.925 against No. 22 Arizona, No. 13 Missouri, and SEMO.

Saltness, a freshman from Stillwater, Minnesota, helped Illinois achieve a season-high score of 197.275 and secure second place in the competition held on Senior Day. Her performance marked her fourth title win of the season.

The last time an Illinois freshman received this honor was also Saltness herself on February 27, 2024.
