Former University of Illinois golfers are participating in professional tournaments worldwide this week. Three former Illini will compete at The Byron Nelson in Texas, while others will play in China, Singapore, and Ecuador.

Thomas Detry, Adrien Dumont de Chassart, and Nick Hardy are set to participate in The CJ CUP Byron Nelson on the PGA Tour. This follows their recent appearance at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Last year, Hardy and his teammate Davis Riley won the event. Detry, alongside Robert MacIntyre, finished tied for 8th place. Meanwhile, Hardy and Riley also made the cut with a tied 28th finish.

The Byron Nelson is taking place at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. This marks the first time all three players will compete in this event as professionals. Detry is currently ranked No. 35 in the FedEx Cup standings and holds the No. 67 spot in the Official World Golf Rankings.

On the DP World Tour, rookie Matthis Besard will return to action at the Volvo China Open after last competing in late March at the Hero Indian Open where he finished tied for 47th place. The tournament is being held at Hidden Grace Golf Course in Shenzhen, China. Besard is also scheduled to play later this month at the Soudal Open in Belgium.

In Singapore, Thomas Pieters and his team from RangeGoats are playing their second consecutive week on tour with LIV Golf League after recently competing in Adelaide, Australia where Pieters secured a top-15 finish.

Lastly, Tommy Kuhl continues his season on PGA Tour Americas by competing this week at the Kia Open held at Quito Tennis & Golf Club in Ecuador. Kuhl has successfully made three out of four cuts so far this season.
