The Illinois women's gymnastics team, ranked 24th in the nation, is set to compete in a quad meet against No. 9 Alabama, No. 17 Minnesota, and Talladega College on Friday, March 8. The event will take place at the Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at 8 p.m. CT.
Alabama recently faced a narrow defeat against No. 3 LSU with a score of 198.325-197.325 but has consistently maintained scores above 196.975 throughout the season. Their highest score this season was a 198.075, marking it as the third-highest in their program's history.
Minnesota participated in a quad meet at Boise State where they finished third with a score of 196.425, trailing behind No. 25 Washington and Boise State but ahead of UC Davis. This score was noted as their second-lowest of the current season.
Talladega College competes as an NCAA Division II team and recently secured third place at a quad meet hosted by Bridgeport College with a score of 191.600.
Illinois recently moved down one spot to No. 24 after scoring 196.325 at the All-Ohio meet and achieving a score of 196.125 against Bowling Green.
