The Illinois women's basketball team has learned its conference opponents for the 2024-25 Big Ten regular season. The announcement was made by the league office, marking a new chapter with the inclusion of UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Washington. This expansion brings the total to 18 teams in the Big Ten, altering the schedule format. Each school will now play one team both at home and away, while facing 16 other teams once (eight at home and eight away).
Illinois is set to face Northwestern twice during the season. The Illini's home games will be against Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, Washington, and Oregon. For their away matches, they will travel to Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Ohio State, Rutgers, Wisconsin, UCLA, and USC.
The season will conclude with the 32nd Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament at a location yet to be announced.
In preparation for this upcoming season, new season tickets for Illinois women's basketball will become available on Monday, May 20. Current ticket holders began renewing their tickets on May 3 through emails sent by the organization.
Under head coach Shauna Green's leadership over two years, Illinois has achieved 41 wins and secured its first-ever postseason championship in program history (2024 WBIT). Additionally, they've enjoyed back-to-back top-5 season attendances at State Farm Center.
