Brody Harding and Ryan Moerman have been instrumental in the recent success of the Fighting Illini baseball team. During the week of April 29 to May 5, 2024, the team achieved a record of four wins and one loss. Their performance was highlighted by a significant victory over Indiana State, ranked No. 24 at the time, with a score of 21-11.
Ryan Moerman delivered an outstanding performance in the game against Indiana State, going 4-for-5 at bat with three home runs and achieving nine RBIs, just one short of setting a new program record. His impressive display brought his season total to 15 home runs, leading the Big Ten.
Brody Harding also showcased his skills during the weekend series against Ohio State. Over three games, he maintained a batting average of .727 (8-for-11), scoring six runs along with a double, a home run, two walks, and seven RBIs. In Saturday's game against Ohio State, Harding excelled with three hits in four at-bats, two runs scored, one home run, and five RBIs.
Harding is pursuing strategic leadership and management at Gies College of Business with a GPA of 3.55. He hails from Moline, Illinois. Meanwhile, Moerman studies agriculture and consumer economics with a GPA of 3.33 and comes from Lockport, Illinois.
