Connor Milton, a senior outfielder for the Fighting Illini baseball team, showcased impressive performance during a three-game series against Northwestern. Over the weekend, Milton achieved a batting average of .750 by going 9-for-12 at the plate. He scored five runs and contributed two doubles, three home runs, and eight RBIs. His on-base percentage was also .750 with a slugging percentage of 1.667.
The Champaign native began his standout week with a 2-for-3 performance and an RBI on Friday. On Saturday, he had what could be considered a career-defining game by going 4-for-4 with three runs scored, one double, two home runs, and four RBIs. This game set new personal records for hits, runs, home runs, RBIs, and total bases (11). In Sunday's final game of the series, Milton went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, one double, one home run, and three RBIs.
This marked the first instance in Milton's career where he hit home runs in consecutive games. Additionally, his three-game hitting streak matches his career-long record while achieving three consecutive multi-hit games is also a personal best.
Academically accomplished as well as athletically talented, Connor Milton maintains a GPA of 3.56 while pursuing studies in recreation, sports & tourism at Illinois.
