Four members of the University of Illinois men's golf team have been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Jackson Buchanan, Timmy Crawford, Max Herendeen, and Ryan Voois were named to the 2024 Division I PING All-Midwest Region team. The announcement was made as the team prepared for Round 2 of the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

For Buchanan, this is his second all-region selection. Meanwhile, Crawford, Herendeen, and Voois received this honor for the first time. This achievement continues a 16-year streak where multiple Illini golfers have been named to the all-region list.

Buchanan has had an impressive season. He was named the 2024 Big Ten Golfer of the Year and was a unanimous All-Big Ten first-team selection. As a junior, he participated in all stroke play events and match play at the Cypress Point Classic. Buchanan finished as runner-up at the Big Ten Championship and led his team with two victories during the regular season. His stroke average entering the NCAA Championship is 70.63.

Crawford earned recognition through his performance this season and received the Illini's 2024 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. He played in eight events with a season stroke average of 71.57 and achieved his first collegiate win at the Dayton Flyer Invitational.

Herendeen became a standout freshman by earning unanimous Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors along with first-team All-Big Ten accolades. He recorded his first collegiate victory at the NCAA Stanford Regional and maintained a stroke average of 70.80.

Voois also excelled in his sophomore year, capturing his first collegiate win at the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate and receiving second-team All-Big Ten Honors. He ranked fifth on his team with a stroke average of 71.63 entering into postseason play.

The Illini golfers will continue their participation in national competitions following these regional honors.
