Three Illini tennis players receive All-Big Ten honors

Fighting Illini men's tennis players have been recognized for their performance in the Big Ten Conference. Senior Hunter Heck and junior Karlis Ozolins were named to the All-Big Ten First Team, while sophomore Kenta Miyoshi earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team.

Hunter Heck has divided his play between the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions this season, achieving an overall record of 20-10 with a 4-2 record in Big Ten matches. He is currently ranked No. 42 nationally in singles.

Karlis Ozolins has also had an impressive year, primarily playing at the No. 1 singles spot with a 6-3 record and holding a 4-2 record when playing at No. 2 singles. His overall singles record stands at 17-9, and he is ranked No. 27 nationally in singles.

Together, Heck and Ozolins have formed a successful doubles team with a combined record of 20-5, including an impressive 8-1 mark in the No. 2 doubles position. They are ranked No. 9 in national doubles rankings.

Kenta Miyoshi has shown consistency this season by competing in both the No. 3 and No. 4 singles spots, amassing an overall record of 25-8 and remaining undefeated in Big Ten play with a perfect score of six wins and no losses. He holds the rank of No. 99 nationally in singles.
