Illini alumni make impact across NFL games in Week 3

Former University of Illinois football players made notable contributions in the third week of the 2024 NFL season. Isaiah Adams participated in three special teams snaps for the Arizona Cardinals during their 20-13 loss to the Detroit Lions. Tony Adams, a safety for the New York Jets, started and played 48 defensive snaps, contributing three tackles and a pass breakup in their 24-3 victory over the New England Patriots.

Nick Allegretti started as left guard for the Washington Commanders, playing all offensive snaps and recovering a fumble in their narrow 38-33 win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Chase Brown of the Bengals had a productive game with 62 rushing yards on seven carries and contributed significantly on special teams despite his team's loss.

Tommy DeVito was inactive for the New York Giants' game against the Cleveland Browns, which they won 21-15. Kendrick Green and Jake Hansen both saw action for the Houston Texans during their defeat to the Minnesota Vikings, with Hansen recording a tackle on special teams.

Nate Hobbs of the Las Vegas Raiders made five tackles and broke up a pass in their loss to Carolina Panthers. Kerby Joseph was active defensively for Detroit Lions, making an interception among other contributions in their win over Arizona Cardinals.

Ted Karras played every offensive snap for Cincinnati Bengals in their close contest against Washington Commanders. Doug Kramer took part in special teams play during Chicago Bears' loss to Indianapolis Colts.

Quan Martin recorded six tackles while starting at safety for Washington Commanders. Chase McLaughlin scored an extra point for Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite their defeat by Denver Broncos.

Jer'Zhan Newton added four tackles for Washington Commanders, while Alex Palczewski played every snap offensively as right tackle for Denver Broncos during their victory over Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Del'Shawn Phillips participated on special teams with Houston Texans; Tip Reiman started at tight end for Arizona Cardinals; Dawuane Smoot contributed defensively to Buffalo Bills’ significant win over Jacksonville Jaguars; Jihad Ward saw action defensively with Minnesota Vikings; Casey Washington was involved on special teams with Atlanta Falcons; Devon Witherspoon played defensively for Seattle Seahawks who triumphed over Miami Dolphins.

Sydney Brown remains on Philadelphia Eagles' Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list this week.
