Illinois is set to play a charity exhibition game against Ole Miss as part of their preparations for the 2024-25 season. The game will take place in Oxford, Mississippi, on Sunday, October 27 at 1 p.m. CT.

Tickets for the event are priced at $20 for general admission seating, excluding floor seats. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of North Mississippi. This organization supports the interests of abused and neglected children involved in youth court proceedings.

Last year, Illinois participated in a similar charity exhibition game against No. 1 Kansas in Champaign before the regular season began. That event raised approximately $825,000 for the Maui Strong Fund to support wildfire relief efforts.

The upcoming game against Ole Miss is part of a challenging non-conference schedule for Illinois, marking them as the fifth SEC opponent they will face this season.

Ole Miss enters its second season under head coach Chris Beard. The team returns six players from last year, including three starters, and has added six transfers along with four first-year student-athletes.

Illinois has been successful in Big Ten conference play over the past five years under Head Coach Brad Underwood, achieving a record of 69-31. They have won Big Ten titles three times in recent seasons: tournament trophies in 2021 and 2024 and a regular-season crown in 2022.

The Fighting Illini recently completed one of their most successful seasons with a record of 29-9. They won the Big Ten Tournament, reached the NCAA Elite Eight, and finished ranked No. 6 in the final AP poll.
