Start times and television designations have been announced for most games in the 2024-25 Illinois Men's Basketball schedule. The Illinois team has a strong following, as indicated by the sellout of public season tickets for the first time in 17 years and student season tickets sold out in a record 26 minutes. Mini-plan tickets are currently available, with single-game sales opening later this month.

The ticket sale dates are as follows: I FUND Member Single-Game Tickets will be available on October 21 for Loyalty Circle and above, October 22 for Oskee, Olympian, Block I members, and October 23 for Captains, Champion, All-American members. General Public Single-Game Tickets will go on sale on October 24.

Illinois has been a dominant force in Big Ten conference play over the past five years under Head Coach Brad Underwood. The team has achieved a record of 69-31 and won Big Ten championships in three of the last four seasons. They have made four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and consistently finished among the top five in the Big Ten standings.

The Fighting Illini are preparing for the upcoming season with several new additions to their roster. Returning players Ty Rodgers and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn will be joined by transfer students Kylan Boswell from Arizona, Ben Humrichous from Evansville, Tre White from Louisville, Carey Booth from Notre Dame, and Jake Davis from Mercer. Newcomers include Morez Johnson Jr., named 2024 Illinois Mr. Basketball; five-star recruit Will Riley; and international players Kasparas Jakucionis and Tomislav Ivisic.
