The Big Ten has unveiled its conference basketball schedule, completing the 2024-25 Illinois schedule. The announcement was made live on BTN. Illinois had previously released its non-conference schedule on August 20.
Ticket sales for the upcoming season will begin with I FUND members receiving priority access starting September 23, followed by various ticket release dates extending into October for both members and the general public.
Illinois, under Head Coach Brad Underwood, has been successful in recent years. They have achieved a 69-31 record in conference play over five seasons and secured Big Ten championships in three of the last four years. The team is coming off an NCAA Elite Eight appearance and finished sixth in the AP poll last season.
The roster for this season includes returning players Ty Rodgers and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn, as well as several new transfers: Kylan Boswell from Arizona, Ben Humrichous from Evansville, Tre White from Louisville, Carey Booth from Notre Dame, and Jake Davis from Mercer. Newcomers also include Morez Johnson Jr., Will Riley, Kasparas Jakucionis, and Tomislav Ivisic.
This year's Big Ten schedule features a 20-game conference slate for the seventh consecutive year. With new additions to the league such as UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Washington, each team will play three teams both home and away while facing fourteen others once.
Illinois will open their Big Ten campaign on December 6 at Northwestern. Their second conference game is scheduled at home against Wisconsin on December 10. Notably, they have a series of key matchups throughout January and February against strong opponents like Penn State, USC, Indiana, Michigan State, Maryland, Nebraska among others.
The regular season concludes with a Senior Night matchup against Purdue on March 7 at State Farm Center before heading to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Tournament from March 12-16.
