Illinois women's golf team is preparing to host the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah for the sixth time. The event will take place over two days, from October 7 to 8, at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois. This historic course, designed by Tom Bendelow and opened in 1925, has been the site of multiple prestigious tournaments including three U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships.

The tournament will feature a total of 15 teams, with participants including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Houston, Indiana, Louisiana Monroe, Maryland, Ole Miss, North Texas, Northern Illinois, Pepperdine, Texas Tech, UCF and UCLA alongside the host team Illinois.

The format for this 54-hole tournament involves a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT on Monday with continuous play over 36 holes and another shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday.

The Fighting Illini lineup consists of Yurang Li as No.1 followed by Victoria Zheng, Brielle Mapanao, Erica Lee and Anna Ritter. Additionally competing individually are Lexanne Halama, Kylie Eaton and Sophia Sulkar.

Reflecting on past performances at this event, last season Illinois achieved an 11th place finish with a team round score of 1-under (287). In prior years they placed eighth in 2022 and tied for sixth in 2021 while securing third place both in 2018 and 2019. Notably during last year's tournament Isabel Sy tied for third with her career-best score of eight-under (208).

Following this invitational Illinois' fall schedule concludes at Landfall Tradition held from October 25-27 in Wilmington N.C.
