Junior quarterback Luke Altmyer led the Fighting Illini football team to a 31-24 overtime road win over #22 Nebraska on September 20. The Starkville, Miss., native went 21-for-27 passing with 236 total yards of offense and four touchdowns, including the game-winning score to Pat Bryant in overtime. Altmyer totaled four touchdowns for the second time this season, becoming the first Illinois quarterback since 2013 to register multiple four-touchdown games in a single season.

Altmyer, a communication major, has guided the Illini up to #19 in the most recent AP Top 25 poll.
