The No. 23 Fighting Illini wrestling team has released its nonconference schedule, head coach Mike Poeta announced on Tuesday, September 10.
The season begins on Saturday, November 2, with a road trip to Edwardsville, Illinois for a dual with Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).
The following Saturday, November 9, the Illini grapplers head out to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for WrangleMania hosted by Journeymen's Wrestling at Liberty High School. Illinois will wrestle in two duals that day, first against No. 10 Arizona State and then versus Binghamton. The Illini will wrestle in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic tournament on Sunday, November 10 at the same location.
The first home meet of the season is on Thursday, November 21 against No. 7 Missouri, with the venue to be announced later. The final nonconference dual is on Monday, November 25 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where the Illini will take on the Tar Heels.
Illinois will head back to Edwardsville to compete in the Cougar Clash tournament hosted by SIUE on Saturday, December 7 to close out the 2024 calendar year.
