The Illinois women's basketball team has received honorable mention for its academic achievements in the 2023-24 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. The announcement was made on Wednesday. The Fighting Illini recorded a combined GPA of 3.509 during the 2023-24 school year.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes women's basketball teams from NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year colleges across the nation that have the highest combined GPAs among all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. This marks the 29th year that the WBCA has compiled these honor rolls.

Illinois is one of 123 Division-I women's teams to achieve a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher and ranks 40th on the list for top academic performance. The Fighting Illini's GPA of 3.509 is the highest in the Big Ten Conference, following a second-place finish in Shauna Green's first season as head coach in 2022-23.

Seven out of fourteen teams in the Big Ten earned honorable mention status from the WBCA: Illinois (40), Indiana (57), Ohio State (76), Iowa (83), Penn State (96), Rutgers (117), and Maryland (118).
