Illinois Softball head coach Tyra Perry announced Lizzie Stiverson as the newest member of the Fighting Illini softball squad for the 2025 campaign. Stiverson spent the last two seasons at Parkland College.

Lizzie Stiverson, a Monticello, Illinois native and graduate of Monticello High School, has been noted for her significant achievements at Parkland College. As a freshman, she was named NFCA NJCAA DII Rawlings Gold Glove Winner and received NJCAA All-Region 24 Team and MWAC All-Conference First Team honors. Over 61 games, she produced 65 hits, 56 runs, 30 RBIs, 14 walks, and 22 stolen bases with a slash line of .357/.522/.418, including 10 doubles, four triples, and four home runs. During her sophomore campaign, she made 24 appearances with 69 hits and 62 runs, logging 23 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs, and 61 RBIs while slashing .412/.824/.502.

Stiverson's addition to Illinois also reunites her with former Parkland College teammate Karley Yergler. Her family has deep ties to Illinois; her grandfather Jerry, aunt Vicky, uncle Chris, and cousin Katie attended the university. She names her father as the most influential figure in her athletic career and enjoys playing pickleball, basketball, and building Legos.

Coach Perry expressed enthusiasm about Stiverson's arrival: "Lizzie Stiverson is a valuable addition to our program. She will bring a wealth of experience and a strong work ethic cultivated during her time at Parkland College. Lizzie is a competitor, and she will shine in Orange and Blue."

Stiverson shared her reasons for choosing Illinois: "I chose Illinois because I believe that representing this state in Orange and Blue is an honor and a privilege. I want to go to school to receive the highest level of education while playing against some of the best competition in the country."
