City of Urbana Foreign Fire Tax Board met Feb. 6.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
A. Call to Order and Roll Call
Called to order at 0736. Members present: Lane, Thomas, Royal, Jarvis.
B. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting
Previous meeting minutes not read.
C. Approval of Treasurer's Report
Money Market: $58,533.43, Checking: $25,083.50. Jarvis motions to approve, Royal seconds. Motion carries.
D. Public Input
No public input.
E. Unfinished Business
1. Washer and dryer for station 1
Jarvis still working on bid and specs. Tabled for next meeting.
2. Station 1 grill
Grill has been repaired. Project complete.
3. Coffee prices and bulk purchasing
No action taken.
4. Water Bottle Filler for Watchroom
Jarvis motions to spend up to $2,000 for a water bottle fill station, Royal seconds. Motion carries.
5. Outdoor Sheds for Station 2
Sheds were purchased. Project complete.
6. Station 1 Exterior Stairs
The city is taking responsibility of the stairs. No further action required.
7. Gym Equipment
Project complete.
8. Flooring Replacement at Station 1
Waiting on proposals. Tabled for next meeting.
9. Miscellaneous Station Items
Project complete.
F. New Business
1. ALTS Training
Local 1147 requested reimbursement to the Local for registration fees for the IAFF ALTS conference. Thomas motions to spend $5,000 to reimburse the Local for ALTS training. Lane seconds. Motion carries.
2. Honor Guard Uniforms
Local 1147 Honor Guard requested $5000 to purchase new uniforms. Jarvis motions to spend $5,000 to purchase honor guard uniforms. Royal seconds. Motion carries.
3. Annual budget for outside training
The board discussed adding a line item to the annual budget designated for training delivered by an outside instructor. Lane motions to create a budget line item of $8000 designated for this purpose. Thomas seconds. Motion carries.
