Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Nov. 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
1. Call to Order
Village President, Joyce Ragle, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2. Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and roll call taken. Present was Village President, Joyce Ragle, Village Trustees, Dee Ann Hoffman, Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth,
Latricia Johnson-Burton, Nathan Nierenhausen and Todd Jamison; Village Trustee and ESDA Coordinator, Robert Russian; Village Clerk, Christine Conner, Village Maintenance, Rob Wood and Village Attorney, Elizabeth Megli. Absent were Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed, and Village Treasurer, Melanie Schultz.
3. Presentations/Comments from the General Public – None
4. Consent Agenda
Motion made by Rob Russian, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion passed unanimously.
5. Approval of Bills Received After Preparation of Treasurer’s Report - None
6. Reports
6.1. Village Clerk, Christine Conner
Chris reported one rental request of the Community Building for this month.
6.2. Village Maintenance, Rob Wood
Rob reported video cameras have been purchased for the Maintenance Building, but he needs assistance to install them.
6.3. Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed
Lyle was not in attendance.
6.4. ESDA Coordinator, Rob Russian
Rob reported Emergency systems in good working order.
7. Old Business
7.1. No action was taken as agreement of terms has not been reached for purchase of real estate from Pesotum Township.
8. New Business
8.1. No action taken at this time.
8.2. Motion by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to accept resignation of Village Board of Trustee, Latricia Johnson-Burton. Motion passed unanimously. Latricia left the meeting.
9. Executive Session
Motion made by Todd Jamison, seconded by Dee Ann Hoffman, to convene into Closed/Executive Session pursuant to Section 120/2(c)(11) of the Open Meetings Act consider “litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular public body has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the public body finds that an action is probable or imminent”. Motion passed.
9. Executive Session (continued)
Motion by Todd Jamison, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to exit Closed/Executive session. Motion passed.
Motion by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, to proceed with Regular Meeting. Motion passed.
10. Presentations/Comments from the Board
§ Nathan Nierenhausen reported the Sons of the American Legion will be having a Chicken Dinner on Friday, November 4, 2022.
§ Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth asked about the Caucus.
§ Santa Claus will be at the Firehouse on Saturday, December 17, at 10:00 a.m. Santa will again hold children on his lap.
§ Christmas Light Contest was brought up, as well as a Holiday bonus for the Maintenance Supervisor.
