Analysis: St. Joseph-Ogden administrators rank 374th in state for average pay

Administrators in St. Joseph-Ogden Community High School District 305 earn an average of $104,303 per year, ranking 374th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 12.4 percent higher than in 2016 and 0.8 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 6.3 percent less than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The St. Joseph-Ogden School District in Champaign County enrolled 446 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 149 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
